Parents are children’s first and most important teachers but baby does not arrive with an instructional manual!  As a teacher I often hear parents say: what can I do to help my child at home? Their concerns encompass areas such as their child’s growing independence and how much freedom to allow as well as discipline and setting limits.

Understanding children’s development and knowing when to offer help, when to withdraw or when to set limits can be daunting. I can help you navigate through these areas.

Another area of concern I encounter frequently centres on language and literacy, particularly learning to read. In many cases parental tensions around their child’s ability to read are transferred to the child resulting in high stress levels and an aversion to acquiring this skill. Let me share the Montessori approach to writing and reading with you so that you and your child can enjoy this wonderful process.

Workshops can be tailored to a specific group’s interest or needs. They are available to parents at daycare and early childhood settings as well as playgroups and other communities where parents gather. For more information contact me

With over forty years’ experience as an educator, I have many practical ideas and strategies to assist teachers in their daily practice. Workshops and seminars can be tailored to align with in-service themes.
